Since the surveillance cameras were installed over a year ago, there have been very few, and only minor, incidents reported. It appears that they are effective in deterring crime. If you notice any criminal activity, please keep in mind that the information captured by the surveillance tapes is normally stored for only 4 to 6 days. It is important that you report any suspicious activity first to the Mountain View Police Department (903-6395 for non-urgent matters and 911 for emergencies). Then, please inform Tri-State so that they can duplicate the surveillance tapes for the time frame that the incident is believed to have occurred to insure that it is permanently recorded. While the cameras are seemingly effective, please remember the best deterrent to crime is neighbors watching out for each other and reporting anything suspicious to the MVPD.
