The Santa Clara Valley Water District website states that a typical household will save 6,450 gallons of water, between $800 - $1,000 in electricity bills and $54 in detergent costs on a yearly basis with a high efficiency washer and by converting other househould appliances to low-flow or energy saving products.  By being more conscious of your water and energy use, you would also help keep your Association's water costs down while doing the environment a favor at the same time.  Finally, if you want to really conserve, call the Water Conservation Hotline (408) 265-2607, ext. 2554, and order free low-flow shower heads, kitchen and bath faucet aerators and toilet leak detection tablets.  You can read all about the potential rebates and savings at the water district's website:  http://www.valleywater.org or call the Hotline for more details.
